The CPI-CNT-3201I is a 1-channel 32-bit counter expansion card designed to expand the functionality of the Raspberry Pi. Contec's CPI series allows you to easily stack up to eight HAT (Hardware Attached on Top) size expansion cards, bringing industrial-grade availability and maintainability to your Raspberry Pi devices.
-
Push-type terminal block for easy wiring
- The CPI Series includes a push-type terminal block for convenient, simple connection and disconnection of wired HATs without needing tools or crimping terminals.
-
Stacked connection of up to eight cards
- Contec has expanded HAT specifications to include address ID configurability, making it possible to connect up to eight stacked cards. Connection to HATs from other manufacturers is also possible.
-
API compatible with PC expansion cards and Python-compatible API
- Take advantage of API compatibility with Contec PCIe, USB, and Ethernet-type measurement control devices. Development assets can be reused across multiple platforms. Linux drivers (API-TOOL for Linux) can be downloaded for free from our website along with sample Python and GCC programs, allowing users to begin programming right away.
-
32-bit up-and-down counter
- The 32-bit up/down counter has a 500kHz maximum response frequency. Moreover, it can count 2-phase signals and mono-phase signals such as a rotary encoder and a linear scale. The counter settings, operation, and interrupts are controlled by software commands.

Rugged and reliable performance
- The input of the CPI-CNT-3201I is opto-coupler isolated giving this product excellent noise immunity. This product has no electrolytic capacitors giving it a long life potential. Finally, this counter can operate over a temperature range of -20-60C making it ideal for a broad range of usages and environments.
