Widely considered a basic Industry 4.0 enabler, IO-Link technology enables simple parameterization to deliver real-time condition monitoring and diagnostics data. IO-Link provides a fast, low-cost way to integrate sensors and actuators as part of your Connected Enterprise strategy.
IO-Link was the first IO technology to be adopted as an international standard that allows devices from different manufacturers to communicate with each other. However, while the technology may support multiple networks, in many cases, the Master module does not.
Contec’s IO-Link Master is unique in that it supports the widest possible range of field networks including EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP, EtherCAT, and CC-Link IE Field Basic - all from one device.
You don’t have to worry about having different devices to support each of these networks. This allows you to standardize and reduce spare parts requirements. Once you know which network you will be adopting, all you need to do is flip a rotary switch on the device. It’s just that simple!
Configuring the device can be done easily from any web browser. There is no need to install a separate software package. This is included at no additional cost.
Contec’s IO-Link Master supports 8 channels with a Power IN and a Power OUT M12 connector for Fieldbus connectivity. This allows multiple units to be daisy-chained together. You do not need to supply power separately for each module.
The IO-Link Master is designed for durability in harsh industrial environments. It is IP67 rated to protect it from water, dirt, and dust and can withstand a wide temperature range from −20°C to 60°C, making it safe to mount outside of an electrical panel.
Contec’s IO-Link Master module is compatible with all IEC 61131-9 compliant sensors and actuators.

Multi-Protocol Industrial Ethernet Support
This industrial grade gateway is compatible with the widest possible range of field bus networks: PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, and CC-Link IE Field Basic. Previously you needed 4 different devices to support each of these networks, and Contec’s IO Link Master device is the only one that works with CC-Link IE Field Basic.
8 channels of independent IO-Link port
You can leverage the existing field network on-site and easily connect IO-Link sensors with 8-channel independent IO-Link Ports (Class A). In addition, digital input during IO-Link communication is achievable since the No. 2 pin of the IO-Link port can be used as a digital terminal.
You can also connect sensors from various manufacturers with one cable, and capture diagnosis information such as cable disconnections or device operating status. This device also enables error-free device replacement and quick restarts.
M12 power connector adopted
This gateway offers a simplified power supply with a daisy chain configuration thanks to the rugged M12 connector. This M12 power connector (L-coded) supplies a large amount of power with its compact size. This product also has an FG terminal (functional grounding) for a power connector.
Output terminal for power supply
The power input in the power input terminal is branched and it will be output from the power output terminal. Since it can be used as the power for other devices, you can connect them in the daisy-chain connection.
Industrial Grade Gateway
With its dust-proof and water-proof design to meet the IP67 rating, the product can be used in locations subject to water or dust particles. (*IP67 is the performance indication when the waterproof caps specified by the CONTEC are set to all connectors.) Furthermore, this gateway works with a wide operating temperature range from -20°C to 60°C.
Simplified Configuration
Configure the desired network you are adopting on the rotary switch on the device. Then, finish setting up the device from a web browser with no additional training or programming skills required.
