The BX-321 product is a compact and versatile, fanless embedded PC with a palm-sized chassis that can be mounted on a 35mm DIN rail. This product is the successor to the BX-320 computer and is compatible with Contec's F&eIT series I/O device modules. It is powered by an Intel E3845 Atom® processor to achieve low power consumption while ensuring sufficient performance. The BX-321 is also equipped with an external expansion connector that can be cabled to an expansion chassis with PCI / PCIe cards. The use of readily available parts ensures reasonable lead times for supply. In addition, the Contec-customized BIOS allows support to be provided at the BIOS level including several Contec unique features such as, “Power Failure Protection", "Contec Fast Boot", "Secure Boot USB Key", "Disk Copy", and "Self-diagnosis".
Compact design with a rich set of features.
The small chassis is equipped with a variety of interfaces including 1x VGA, 1x USB 3.2 Gen1, 3x USB 2.0, 2x RS-232C, 2x GbE LAN, Audio, and an F&eIT interface (for Contec's F&eIT Series device modules). This product is also equipped with a PCIe connector that can be connected to an external expansion chassis. This product has the same dimensions as the previous BX-320 Series product (94mm x 120mm x 74.7mm), so it can be swapped into existing solutions.
Can be used as a controller for data acquisition for measurement and control.
The BX-321 can be used as a controller for Contec's F&eIT series measurement/control/communication modules with the connector conveniently on the side of the unit. Device modules include digital input/output, analog input/output, and serial communication devices.
Expand your network, storage, and performance.
A PCI expansion chassis loaded with PCI/PCIe cards can be connected to the BX-321 via a single cable (sold separately).
Convenient mounting option.
A 35mm DIN rail mounting bracket is included with the BX-321. Since the connection with the F&eIT module is located on the side of the computer, the BX-321 can be connected easily and smartly to the module without using extra and more costly interfaces such as a backplane board.

The BX-321 supports a wide range of power supply of 10.8V to 31.2VDC for usage in a broad range of applications.

With the Windows Embedded Standard or Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSB 2016 pre-installed model, it is possible to use the Write Filter (WF) function of the OS. By prohibiting unnecessary writes to storage with the EWF function, the storage device is more secure and will function over a longer life span.
